get to use the gyms on base for free!
With all this working out I have been doing in order to get ready for homecoming, I really appreciate the free gyms that we can use on the Marine Corps bases!!
The cost of gym memberships range but if I were in Erie, I would be paying 20-35 bucks a month and that is a pretty good price! Its the little things that we get that help save money!!
I too think that having a gym on base is AMAZING. I just wish they had daycare along with it!

I just came across your blog as I was searching for education options at Camp LeJeune. I would love to ask you a few questions. My daughter, a senior in high school, plans to marry a young man who just enlisted with the marines. She wants to be a nurse or pharmacist. She will graduate high school with a 2yr community college degree. I am trying to advise her that most likely he will be deployed for long lengths of time and it might be better to live at UNC and finish her degree and then marry. Are there any education options for spouses at Camp Lejeune? He is going infantry and seems to think his base will be there since we live in NC. What are your thoughts/advise?

We are also looking at Wilmington, but I expect her to get a full ride to UNC. How many months are the marines deployed for? What are the initial time frames.ie boot camp 13 wks then what?? As a mom it just seems like her fiance will be gone more than she sees him to start out and it may be better for her to try and live between camp lejeune and unc and both commute. Then when he is deployed, move into her dorm. Any thoughts you have would ease the mind of this worried mom. Thanks! Jamie

ReplyDeleteSAHM- One of our gyms does have a childcare but its like pulling teeth to time it correctly where you dont have to wait in line since they dont take many kids, and only 4 infants at a time!
